Proposer-Builder Separation (PBS) is a mechanism that separates block proposal and block building functions in blockchain networks.

Proposer-Builder Separation (PBS) is a blockchain architecture that divides the roles of block proposers and block builders. This separation enhances decentralization and security by allowing distinct entities to propose and build blocks. Block proposers are responsible for selecting transactions and suggesting them for inclusion. Meanwhile, block builders focus on constructing blocks from these suggestions. By isolating these roles, PBS reduces the risk of centralization and potential manipulation. It also promotes a more competitive and efficient environment for block creation. This structure aims to improve the overall integrity and robustness of blockchain networks.
