Daemon is a background process that handles automatic tasks in a blockchain or cryptocurrency network.

Daemon is a background service that runs continuously to perform automated tasks in a blockchain. In the context of cryptocurrencies, daemons are crucial for maintaining network operations. They handle tasks such as transaction validation, block creation, and maintaining the local copy of the blockchain. Daemons work without direct user intervention, allowing for seamless and efficient processing. For example, Bitcoin's "bitcoind" is a daemon that manages Bitcoin network functions. By running in the background, daemons ensure that the network remains operational and responsive to new transactions and data.
