Airdrop is the free distribution of cryptocurrency tokens or coins to wallet addresses, often for promotional purposes.

Airdrop is a marketing strategy in the cryptocurrency world where tokens or coins are distributed for free to users. This is usually done to promote a new cryptocurrency, increase its adoption, or reward loyal community members. Airdrops often require users to perform simple tasks, like following social media accounts or joining a community, to qualify. The distributed tokens can help increase awareness and liquidity in the market. Airdrops can also be used to distribute governance tokens for decentralized platforms, allowing recipients to participate in decision-making processes. They are a popular method for projects to gain visibility and user engagement.
